About
actor - filmmaker - educator
Actor
I act because I cherish the family you build with every project.
I lived 12 years in the United States of America where I earned my MFA in acting from The New School for Drama in New York City.
Film and TV highlights include: Don’t Let’s go to the Dogs Tonight (directed by Embeth Davitz); Death of a Whistleblower (directed by Ian Gabriel); Binnelanders (KykNet); Off the Rails (Lifetime); Legacies (The CW); Person of Interest (CBS), Elementary (CBS).
Theatre highlights include: The Picture of Dorian Gray (UJ); Amadeus (Pieter Toerien Productions); Tartuffe (The Shakespeare of New Jersey); Love’s Labour’s Lost (The Shakespeare of New Jersey); Metamorphosis (InVersion Theatre); Much Ado About Nothing (Random Access Theatre).
I am currently based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Filmmaker
I find joy in editing films, and I’m obsessed (too much so, admittedly) on details when stitching together a story.
The scripts I write tend to explore male insecurities and alternative relationship structures (yes, correct, ethical non-monogamy etc).
Behind the camera I am most comfortable as a director.
Ultimately, I just love getting together with fellow artists and creating stories.
Educator
In the classroom I want to build a supportive cohort. To me, collaboration and family mean everything.
I teach private lessons and have hosted workshops, focusing mainly on “Eye-Work for Camera” – influenced by my time at Kimball Studio in New York.
I have been a Screen Acting lecturer at Open Window, where I taught The Method according to the principles of Lee Strasberg and Stella Adler (they’d be so happy to hear I am combining their techniques!).
I am currently a lecturer for the Higher Certificate in Digital Film Production program at Open Window. We introduce students to the core concepts and practices of narrative film production.
